YEAR 10 JOB CAMP
Over the last two weeks, select Year 10 students had the opportunity to participate in job camp sessions. Job Camp is facilitated by way of incursion and offers students access to vocational training and compliance certificates that are enhancements for employment opportunities. Students undertook nationally accredited training in areas such as;
- Use hygienic practices for food safety
- Prepare and serve espresso coffee
- Provide responsible service of alcohol (In accordance with Liquor Control Victoria)
- Prepare and present sandwiches
- Prepare to work safely in the construction industry
- Provide first aid + Provide CPR
- Job Search Training
Staff were delighted when the students ran a barista session preparing cafe grade coffees as a part of their training. They also prepared club sandwiches, burgers and wraps. These tools will prove to be invaluable for students giving them a certification they can use in future employment and training.
