FGSC Virtual Desktop

The FGSC Virtual Desktop is a virtualised computer hosted within the school network. It can be accessed from any computer running MAC OS X or WIN7/8/10 to simulate as if the user was at school. It is similar to a VPN connection, but a way in which we can standardise the users environment.

You can access this by following the below instructions.

How to run the FGSC Virtual Desktop

  1. If you have already installed the client, click the link below, and accept/allow to launch the application.
    1. Optionally, you can run the FGSC Virtual Desktop through a compatible browser.
  2. When prompted, enter your username and password to login.

If this does not open the VMWare Horizon Client, you need to install it following the instructions below.


  1. Download and install the VMWare Horizon Client by selecting the link below.
  2. After installation is complete follow the above instructions ‘How to run the FGSC Virtual Desktop’

Connection Problems?

If you receive an error such as ‘The connection to the remote computer ended.’, this is usually a firewall preventing the client accessing the schools servers. You need to disable the firewall or allow port 4172 to connect to view.fountaingatesc.vic.edu.au
