Year 7 Philip Island Camp

On the 20th- 22nd of May, ninety-two Year 7 students and eight staff members attended the Year 7 Camp held at the Philip Island Resort. After a wet start with heavy rain, the first day turned bright and sunny, lucky as the camp was going to be packed with outdoor activities! The three days were made up of team building activities including canoeing, high ropes, the Giant Swing and raft-making. On the way to and from the camp, students visited The Nobbies in Point Grant where students explored the boardwalk, spotted the penguins and a cheeky wallaby and enjoyed the stunning views! Trivia Night was run by Mr. Ian Box on the first night and involved a variety of topics including the special round of ‘Fountain Gate Secondary College,’ (bribed of course with generous prizes of chocolates and lollies). The second night was Movie Night with Shrek and sleeping bags as students winded down after two jam-packed days. Mrs. Frost would like to commend all of the students on their excellent behavior and strength in overcoming challenging obstacles and dedication to teamwork. All students represented the College with pride, a fantastic effort from all involved!
