We would like to thank our special guests, Major of Casey, Amanda Stapleton and Local Member Mr Luke Donnellan for attending. In addition to these guests our alumni also presented awards, Jasmine Gonzalez, Kyler Nunn and Darren Bell. Thank you to our school captains who hosted the assembly and congratulations to all of our dedicated students!

Both of our U16 teams progressed to the Grand Final with our first team taking out the final, 29-5.
We are thrilled to be progressing onto the State Championships and provide strong representation for the south east region.
Fountain Gate Secondary College completed a 10 day Boys Rugby Tour of New Zealand in which members of the College's Rugby Academy competed in three games against New Zealand schools. We are thrilled to announce that we came away with three big wins! 38 – 0 over Tangaroa College, 78 – 8 over Mt Maunganui College and 73 – 14 over Lynfield College in the final game.
Fountain Gate Secondary College has been put on the map and going forward we will be looking to challenge ourselves against even stronger competition in New Zealand, Queensland and New South Wales. Our Player of the Tournament was Sebastian Sialau who scored 7 tries across the three games as well as being our main goal kicker.
The boys not only enjoyed being immersed in rugby culture but also experienced Maori and New Zealand culture at its finest.
We would like to thank our sponsors, d3 and BLK as well as all those that donated and bought fundraising kits off the boys. Without your help, we would never have been able to get this landmark tour off the ground.
Over the past two weeks, students have been learning about ' Catch it Check it Change it' in the Canine Comprehension Program. Students have discussed what worked with training Barney and then related this to situations to their life and how they could adopt these strategies. Working as a team, the students have created an obstacle course where they paired up and took Barney through it, using visual mindfulness to create a successful course.
There has been exciting new developments with our front oval. Rugby goal posts and fencing has been installed and the grass has been cut and rolled. When the oval is not as wet, work will begin on the cricket nets which will be in the far corner bordering the new housing estate.
A game is scheduled between our Rugby Academy and Hampton Park on the 2nd of September at 3:45. Please come along to support our College!
Nineteen students from Fountain Gate Secondary College are participating in the Innovate Program, an initiative of the Australian Business and Community Network. This is a STEM-based program that runs over five sessions and involves students being mentored by industry professionals. Innovate was created to target Australia’s ‘pipeline of problem solvers and innovators by encouraging the uptake of STEM subjects in the early years of high school’ as stated by ABCN. Through their second session on 16 August, students were challenged to think about ‘Creators vs Consumers’ and debate the use of technology at school. Mentors helped students to produce a digital solution to a problem through the creation of an app, which was then presented to the group.
A massive thank you to Harvey Norman for suppling Junior Sub school with a freezer for our Breakfast Club! An incredibly generous donation!
