End of Term 1: Principal's Report
Dear Parents, Students and Families,
As term one ends at Fountain Gate Secondary College, I want to share some highlights from the past few months.
This term, we’ve had some beautiful moments that genuinely showcase the dedication and achievements of our students. Our Year 7 start-up program and activities like the Year 7 360 Bus incursions helped our newest students feel at home in their new school environment.
Our assemblies have been a regular reminder of our high expectations for our students, but they’ve also been a chance to celebrate their achievements. Whether it’s academic success, sporting achievements, or showing leadership qualities, we’ve loved seeing our students shine.
The NAPLAN assessments saw our Year 7 and 9 students exert their best. Seeing our students rise to the challenge and demonstrate their academic capabilities is inspiring.
Outside of the classroom, our students have been busy with various extracurricular activities, such as the Year 7 Deakin University Art Excursion, VET Music Top Class excursion and a visit from Victoria Police as a part of the Blue Edge program. Our students also excelled in various interschool sport competitions in the fields of, rugby, divisional swimming, tennis, volleyball and basketball. It’s been wonderful to see them explore their interests and talents.
We’ve also witnessed improvements in students arriving to school and class on time, with our learning community embracing our mantra “on time every time.” Additionally, there has been progress regarding students wearing the correct uniform, which is a positive reflection of our collective efforts to maintain a respectful and orderly school environment.
Thank you for your continued support. Your partnership is invaluable as we work to provide our students with the best possible learning environment and opportunities.
Wishing you a relaxing break, and I look forward to our work together in term 2.
