BYOD First Time Setup

Step 1 - Connect to wireless.

Connect to the 'FGSC' wireless.  When prompted, enter your school username and password.  If at home, connect to your home network.

Step 2 - Create shortcut to Compass.

Create a shortcut to Compass on your desktop by dragging the button below to your desktop.

Step 3 - Install Microsoft Office.

Install Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, etc).

Your email address is your <student code>@fountaingatesc.vic.edu.au (for example: abc0001@fountaingatesc.vic.edu.au)

Install the OneNote Class Notebook Add-in.

Apple Users:

OneNote for Windows 10 and Mac users do not need to download the Class Notebook Add-in separately as it is built in.

Install Microsoft Teams

Your login is your email address is your <student code>@fountaingatesc.vic.edu.au (for example: abc0001@fountaingatesc.vic.edu.au)

Step 4 - Install the Vivi client.

Install the Vivi client for screen mirroring and video streaming to classroom displays.

Step 5 - Install Printers

Install PaperCut client and printers directly to get more print options than what is available through WebPrint.

Step 6 - Set up school email on Microsoft Outlook

Set up email using Microsoft Outlook from your Office 365 Account

Common Issues

Windows S Mode

If your Windows computer is in 'S Mode', this will restrict users from installing any applications which sit outside the Microsoft App Store.  Please follow these instructions to de-activate 'S Mode'.
