What is VTAC?

The Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC) is the main place you’ll use to apply for courses after Year 12.

If you’re planning to go to university, TAFE, or another training provider, VTAC is where you:

  • Apply for courses
  • Search and compare different options
  • Apply for scholarships
  • Apply for extra support through the Special Entry Access Scheme (SEAS)

VTAC collects your application and sends it to the institutions you’ve applied to—so you don’t need to apply to each one separately.

Why it matters for you

VTAC is how you turn your plans into real options. It helps you:

  • Explore what courses are available
  • Understand entry requirements
  • Organise your preferences
  • Take the next step after school

Good to know

You’ll get support from the Careers Team during Year 12 to help you:

  • Set up your VTAC account
  • Choose your course preferences
  • Complete your application correctly
