What Opportunities Does CHES Offer?

Higher Education Studies (University Subjects)

CHES gives selected Year 12 students the opportunity to study a first-year university subject while still at school.

  • Counts as part of your VCE program
  • Provides a real university learning experience
  • Can support future university pathways

These subjects have entry requirements, usually including:

  • Completion of a related Unit 3 & 4 subject in Year 11
  • A high study score

VCE Subjects Through CHES

CHES also offers specialised VCE subjects for high-ability students, including:

  • Algorithmics (Units 3 & 4)
  • Extended Investigation (Units 3 & 4)
  • English Language (Units 1–4)
  • Philosophy Units 1 & 2 launching in 2027, Units 3 & 4 in 2028
  • Classical Studies Units 1 & 2 in 2027, Units 3 & 4 in 2028

How It Works

  • You remain enrolled at your home school
  • You are dually enrolled with CHES
  • You complete CHES studies alongside your regular VCE program

This means you keep your school connections while accessing advanced learning opportunities.

CHES programs are delivered using a hy-flex model, meaning you can:

  • Attend on-site sessions
