This certificate provides an entry-level qualification for students interested in the practical and technical aspects of the building and construction industry. Students focus on developing hands-on skills and knowledge that prepare them for further training and apprenticeships within a range of building and construction trade sectors.
Students will learn to safely use tools, equipment and construction materials while developing practical skills in measuring, interpreting plans and drawings, basic carpentry techniques, levelling procedures, wall framing, roofing and construction processes commonly used across the industry.
This qualification prepares students for apprenticeships and further study in a variety of building and construction trades.

This program is not a scored study. Students who successfully complete the Unit 3 & 4 sequence will receive one ATAR increment, which is calculated as 10 per cent of the fourth-ranked study score from the student's 'top four' Unit 3 & 4 studies.
