In Year 9 Media, students explore how media products are created, constructed, and consumed across film and print media forms. Students investigate how media codes and conventions are used to communicate meaning, engage audiences, and shape narratives. Through practical and theoretical learning, students experiment with filmmaking, digital editing, print design, and visual storytelling while analysing a range of contemporary media products. Students work through the media production process including research, planning, production, and post-production, to create their own media products for specific audiences and purposes.
Students will learn how media creators use camera techniques, lighting, sound, editing, layout, colour, and design to communicate ideas and engage audiences.
