Year 10 Business & Economics is an exciting and practical subject that helps students develop the knowledge and skills needed for success in life, work, and future business opportunities. Students will explore how businesses operate, how consumers make decisions, and how limited resources are used to meet society’s needs and wants. They will gain an understanding of Australia’s economy and its connections with the global economy, particularly within the Asia-Pacific region, while developing valuable skills in entrepreneurship, financial literacy, problem-solving, teamwork, and communication.

A highlight of the course is Market Day, where students will plan, create, market, and run their own small business during lunchtime, putting their learning into action and experiencing the challenges and rewards of entrepreneurship firsthand. This subject is ideal for students who are interested in business, money, leadership, innovation, and developing practical skills that will benefit them in a wide range of future careers.

Semester 1

Year 10 Students will learn about Economics, economic literacy, economic indicators as a measurement of economic performance and their influence on economic decision-making and the changing patterns of Australia’s international trade and the costs and benefits of globalisation.
