Art Making and Exhibiting A – printing, painting, ceramics is a creative subject where students explore:
Students create original artworks inspired by contemporary Australian and international artists while learning how artworks are prepared, presented and curated for exhibiting.
A strong focus of the course is ceramics and working with clay, where students develop practical ceramics skills through clay hand-building techniques including:
Students also investigate printmaking processes and produce a drypoint etching and lino print edition. Throughout the course, students participate in practical workshops including colour and colour mixing, portrait drawing, Tezhip painting and miniature painting. These workshops are designed to develop creativity, technical skills and personal expression through visual language.
Students will develop skills using a variety of materials, techniques and processes to refine their technical and creative abilities.

Students will analyse artworks by investigating materials, techniques, art elements and principles, aesthetic qualities and artistic styles, while developing an understanding of key art movements throughout history.
Students will also explore how artworks are selected and displayed within exhibitions and gallery spaces so they are able to curate their own collection of artwork.
