In their health class, students will learn about the variety of food sources and diets. Within their Physical Education studies, students will explore the components of fitness, the FITT [Frequency, Intensity, Time, Type of exercise] principles, various training methods, and the principles of biomechanics, examining how these concepts can be effectively applied to sport performance and physical training.
- Students will develop an understanding of a range of nutrients and their physiological functions within the body, including the critical analysis of food selection models to support informed and healthy dietary choices. Students will also examine the role of nutrition and hydration in athletic performance and recovery, while evaluating both legal and illegal performance-enhancing methods and their implications.
- Students will learn the different types of fitness components, FITT principles, training methods and biomechanics and how they are applied to sports and training.
